Gulf View
This home was designed for a family of five that tragically lost their home in a wildfire.
After bouncing around temporary housing after the fire, the mother and father simply wanted their three boys to have a permanent home they could grow into. It was also important to create outdoor spaces for the entire family to use year-round.
Sitting on the Choctawatchee Bay there are sightlines from the steel front door all the way to the water. Painted brick and a reclaimed slate roof add a sense of permanence to this coastal retreat. The open plan is functional for entertaining and accommodating the needs of a growing family while fostering a sense of calm and security. One of the more popular features is an oversized bourbon bar in the center of the home that keeps people out of the kitchen.
This home was featured in the August 2024 edition of Vie Magazine.
